We’ve developed the following professional and leadership resources to assist you as you transition into practice.

  • Stay on track with the Resident Timeline tool. This customized timeline shows residents what they need to do, and when. Among other items, it covers exams, registrations, application for credentials, required professional mem¬bership, malpractice insurance, and includes links to relevant authorities as well, such as the MCC, RCPSC, CCFP and more.
  • Support for the business side of medicine. The CMA Practice Management Curriculum offers one and two day seminars, with supporting online modules offered through your university, to cover the basics of medical practice.
  • Practice management support. MD Physician Services can help residents save time, optimize revenues and enhance patient care with billing, scheduling and EMR software, consulting services, seminars, insured billing services and web portals for physicians and patients. A hotline is also available for questions at 1 800 361-9151.
  • Support for resident health. The CMA Centre for Physician Health and Well-being is a centre of excellence providing leadership, education and research to keep Canadian physicians healthy.
  • Leadership for medical residents. Residency provides preparation for practice. PMI, CMA’s accredited leadership development program, prepares residents for leadership roles. Discount resident rates are available to CMA members.
